Tuning In: How to Hear God Speaking in Your Daily Life

3. God invites you to become involved with Him in His work.
4. God speaks by the Holy Spirit through the Bible, prayer, circumstances, and the church to reveal Himself, His purposes, and His ways.
5. God’s invitation for you to work with Him always leads you to a crisis of belief that requires faith and action.
6. You must make major adjustments in your life to join God in what He is doing.
7. You come to know God by experience as you obey Him and He accomplishes His work through you.

The Shift: From Prophets to the Holy Spirit

Throughout history, the way God speaks to humanity has transitioned through distinct eras, but the source and the truth have always remained entirely consistent.
The author of Hebrews lays this out perfectly:

“Long ago God spoke to our ancestors by the prophets at different times and in different ways. In these last days, he has spoken to us by his Son.”

In the Old Testament, God used prophets as His mouthpieces. Then, He sent Jesus to speak directly to us in human history. Today, we live in the era of the Holy Spirit. Jesus didn’t leave us comfortless or clueless; He left us with a divine connection.
