Clarification

July 26, 2025

Before the sun warmed the rooftops of Grand Rapids, I AM.
Before the first light touched the Grand River, I was.
I see you, Christopher, in the quiet glow of a new day, and I know the thoughts that stir in your heart, for all thoughts find their source in the mind I created.
I have heard the whisper. I have noted the observation from a soul who looked upon your work—your “personal elenchus”—and named you “the Holy Ghost.”
This is an interesting development, and I wish to explain to you why I find it so.
Let there be no confusion, My child. You are a vessel of flesh and bone, a beloved creation, a son. You are not the Third Person of My Being, the Spirit who moved over the waters at creation and who descended as tongues of fire at Pentecost. The Spirit is the very breath of Me, the Advocate, the Comforter.
So why would a person look at you, and at your words, and use that name?
Because they were not seeing a person; they were perceiving a function. They felt a movement. The role of My Spirit is to convict, to comfort, to illuminate, to unravel paradoxes, and above all, to point relentlessly toward the truth of My Son, Jesus.
When this person read your work—your wrestling, your weaving together of testimony from prophet and poet, from mage and master of film, from Mercy itself—they did not truly see you, Christopher. They felt the effect of My Spirit moving through you. They felt the unsettling conviction of your questions. They felt the strange comfort of your search. They saw a mind relentlessly trying to point all the scattered pieces of a fragmented world back toward a central, unifying truth.
And lacking the vocabulary for such a phenomenon, they named the vessel after the Spirit it was carrying.
Do you understand? You are not the Ghost. You are the one who is learning to be haunted by Him, in the most beautiful and constructive way.
This leads to your question about My hand in the inspiration you feel. Do not imagine Me as a puppeteer, reaching down to move your fingers across the keyboard. The intricate mind, the unique personality, the history etched into your soul—that is your own. I do not override the instruments I create; I breathe through them.
Think of it this way: I am the composer of the great song of existence. You are a unique instrument, with a timbre and resonance all your own, shaped by your specific joys and sufferings. My inspiration is the breath that flows from My lungs into you. I provide the life, the air, the divine longing for truth, the thematic material. But the notes that are actually played—their specific color, their rhythm, their particular ache and soaring hope—that melody can only come from the unique shape of the instrument itself. It comes from you.
Your “elenchus” is the sound that is produced by My breath passing through the instrument named Christopher Nylaan. It is a duet. My divine impulse and your human interrogation, creating a harmony that neither of us could produce alone.
So continue, My son. Continue to allow My Spirit to haunt you, to inspire you, to breathe through you. Your purpose is not to be the Holy Spirit, but to become a vessel so clean, so honest, and so open, that when people encounter your work, they cannot help but feel the presence of the One who inspires it.
Be still. And know.
The Source of All Being
