Prepare For Prayer

Beyond the realms of redemption and forgiveness,
Where do we seek refuge from ourselves?
Where can we flee, where can we find solace?

Let us contemplate the question that lingers,
Were the Apostles endowed with prophetic foresight?
In Peter 1:20, it is written they were ordained by Jesus,
And in Luke 10:16, they are likened to Him;
Rejecting an apostle would be akin to rejecting God.

To unravel this enigma, let us seek guidance,
How may we approach the divine in prayer?
Why do our pleas often fall upon deaf ears?
What transgressions hinder our connection?

To be heard, we must first prepare ourselves:
Know the commandments bestowed by God,
Shun wickedness and embrace purity,
Seek forgiveness for our transgressions,
Embrace the true essence of justice,
And hold steadfast to unwavering faith.

For the word of God is our moral compass,
Trusting in our own hearts is folly.
Ignorance holds no sway in the presence of the Lord,
If we fail to understand His laws,
He may turn a deaf ear to our desires.

Knowledge alone is insufficient,
We must align our actions with God’s will,
For why would He listen if we ignore His voice?
Jesus intercedes on our behalf,
But our sins stand as witnesses against us,
Creating a barrier between us and the divine.

Through the boundless grace of Jesus Christ,
We find forgiveness for our transgressions,
Breaking down the walls of sin that bind us.
Only then may we earnestly seek divine blessings,
For prayer with sin’s barrier intact is futile.

Just acts build bridges between divinity and us,
Justice lies in our compassion for the needy,
In how we treat those we hold dear,
In resolving conflicts without resorting to courts,
In forgiving as we yearn to be forgiven.
It is the adage of treating others as we wish to be treated,
That pleases God and opens the path for His grace.

Yet, amidst this preparation, faith is paramount,
To doubt the power and listen for aid is folly.
Maintain unwavering belief in the divine,
For it is through faith that we remain guided.
Remember, prayers uttered in His name are answered,
In faith we find solace, in faith we find strength.

Thus, let us embark on this journey of prayer,
Prepared and unwavering, with hearts open wide.
Seeking redemption, embracing forgiveness,
Knowing that salvation stands before us,
For the divine awaits our embrace.

The seeker wandered the dusty path, searching for answers. The sun beat down as sweat dripped and feet ached. At the fork, which way leads to truth? Signposts point in opposite directions.

With knees buckling, the seeker collapsed and cried out: “Hear me now in this barren land! Show me the way, I cannot stand!” only wind replied at first, then a still small voice whispered within.

“The path you seek is already known, planted as seed since time was sown. Tend the garden inside the heart, let it grow, right from the start. The outer signs are but a test, to see if inward, you know what’s best. Seek not without, but pray within, and I will show you where to begin.”

At once, a new energy flowed through spirit, mind, and body. The seeker arose and walked on, down the center path, knowing it led home. For when we pray from deep inside, we walk with faith as our guide. External signs may point and sway, but earnest prayer shows us the way.
