The Reichstage Fire of 2001!

February 11, 2010

I must admit that I am a sucker for conspiracy theories, but I also think that history has shown us to be suspect of the media.

“When they OWN the information, the can bend it all they want.” John Mayer

All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.
Arthur Schopenhauer
German philosopher (1788 – 1860)

It is a widely accepted premise that absolute power corrupts absolutely. And that all leaders, are aspiring for power–probably absolute power. What is the easiest way to achieve power?

Respect: that is very hard to earn, and propaganda makes this almost impossible for any leader

Love: some people just don’t understand benevolence, there are not enough resources to please everyone.

Fear: oh, this is something everyone understands! And this is something the media loves to write about. And when people are afraid, they forget about love and respect. They are willing to blindly follow those in power when they are somewhat convinced that an attack is imminent. After all, a dictatorship works much better during war, because a democracy wastes too much valuable time.

How is 9/11 related to the Reichstage Fire:

Most people don’t think or acknowledge this fact but Adolf Hitler became the Dictator of Germany using the laws of democratic Germany. Hitler was elected to parliament and appointed Chancellor. After that he used anti-Semitic and anti-Communist propaganda to become dictator. What type of propaganda, well the type that could get a party that never held a majority the power to hand pick the most radical CONSERVATIVE to lead the country. The most famous propaganda was  the way Hitler planned and had the media report the Reichstage Fire. Basically, he burnt it himself and blamed it on his opposition–Jews and Communists. This scared the shit out of the German people, and out of fear they decided to give Hitler the power to do something about these acts of  Terror. Most of the rights German people previously held under their previous democratic state were quickly and easily abolished (through majority vote) and Hitler was given absolute power. During this time, his APPROVAL RATING WAS THROUGH THE ROOF. However, we all know how quickly his fame and approval turned to notoriety and down right hatred. But the bottom line is, a really radical dude that very few people agreed with came to power and stayed in power using fear tactics.

How is this similar to 9/11?

When Bush came to power, the country was very split politically. He was the first president to be elected by the Supreme Court in Bush v. Gore. He didn’t win the popular vote or the electoral vote. Soon after he took office, the people that helped him get in began to realize that he wasn’t all that great either. So instead of having the 45 + percentage of American’s behind him, he was faced with the lowest approval ratings for such a new president. This was especially odd because Bush didn’t inherit any real problems, besides his own publicity problems. The budget was balanced, no wars were waging, and Americans seemed relatively happy. But that all changed when Bush decided to give tax cuts to the rich and pass no Billionaire left behind. It was nearly a consensus, by Summer 2011 that we had ourselves a lame duck president in only his first term. We didn’t love him and nobody–not even is own father–respected him.

Then there was 9/11:

“You know who did it?” “Islamic? Fishes? Fuck knows.” Jasper continues: “I’ll bet it was the government. Every time one of our politicians is in trouble, a bomb explodes.”

~Children of Men

During the months before 9/11 the CIA had a list of only 16 individuals in the US that were restricted from flying because they were feared terrorists living in America. The media said that this was because Al Queda had such an elaborate planning scheme that they were able to allude the most intelligent military intelligence officers in the history of the world. Osama Bin Laden hand selected the best and the brightest to fly airplanes into the twin towers. The twin towers…not the Hoover Dam, not the Brooklyn Bridge, not any crucial piece of the American infrastructure. Al Queda was so smart and meticulous, yet they chose a lackluster target. They chose to fly into buildings that were supposed to withstand this sort of accident.

What happened after 9/11?

Bush became the most popular president in history. The economy continued to plummet, but Congress seemed hell bent on giving him more and more power. The Patriot Act, War in Iraq, Guantanamo Bay. Does that sound at all like the laws Hitler passed, the World War Hitler started and the internment camps Hitler ordered to be constructed.

We were all afraid and angry, so we gave Bush the power to save us. Now we have Patriot laws depriving us our rights/freedoms, a Prison full of too many innocent middle-easterners, and War in the middle-east that seems to be fueled by nothing but religious radicals and oil seekers.

Its time we put out the Reichstage Fire of 2001. Anyone who opposes a proper 9/11 investigation is simply encouraging yet another Reichstage Fire.
