The Heavy Art of Letting Go
Regret is a heavy thing to live with. To put it bluntly: **it sucks**.
When things don’t work out, that initial sting is painful enough. But what sucks even more is the aftermath—revisiting those moments over and over again in your mind, driving yourself crazy wondering what you could have done differently.
It’s bad enough getting trapped in the past just to relive the wonderful things you did. You end up missing a moment that is already gone. But it is an absolute nightmare to endlessly relive a failure.
> *”A successful failure.”* That might not be the most conventional way to put it, but sometimes a failure is so thorough and complete that it feels exactly like that. It hits you hard, and it refuses to leave your mind quietly.

### **The Grace to Move Forward**
Failures are incredibly hard to deal with. That sorrow is one of those things that lingers, hanging around long after the dust has settled. But there is a turning point we all have to reach. By the grace of God, we can move on.
When the regret tries to pull you back under, you have to remember one fundamental truth:
* **You cannot be who you are today without the scars from your past.**
Every misstep, every “successful failure,” and every heavy regret has forged your character. Those scars are proof of your resilience.
### **Living in the Now**
We spend so much time mentally rewriting history or anxiously scripting tomorrow, but the reality is beautifully simple:
1. **You can’t change the past.** No amount of revisiting it will alter the outcome.
2. **You can only live in the now.** This exact moment is the only place you have any real power.
3. **The future hasn’t happened yet.** You don’t have to carry the weight of yesterday, and you don’t have to fight the battles of tomorrow. You just have to be here, right now.
And for that? Thank God.
